This fan is exactly what we were looking for. We use fans for 2 purposes: to blow air, and to make "white noise" for sleeping. This fan does both. Most fans these days are made to be "ultra-quiet" and I searched many products and reviews to find one that actually WASN'T quiet. I've looked at noise machines, but they're overkill. We don't need the sound of the ocean or rainfall. We just need the fan sound. Granted, no one wants a jet engine in their bedroom, which this does sound a little like on the high setting, I'll admit. On the low setting, it's pretty quiet. On medium, it's perfect. The same goes for air circulation. On low, you get a nice breeze. High will dry out your contacts in seconds. Medium will cool you off on a hot day.If you're looking for a quiet fan, keep looking. There are tons. If you're like me and need the white noise, GET THIS FAN. You won't be disappointed.

I chose this fan based on another review that indicated this fan is loud. I use a fan for white noise when I sleep. This little fan works great for that purpose. NOTE if you are looking for a quiet fan this is NOT for you! Fan is great as white noise and is actually pretty powerful for being a desk table top fan. I also like that the base on this fan is fairly wide/sturdy as my last holmes had a pretty flimsy little base that made it easy to tip over all the time. The adjustable part makes it great so you can tip the fan up/down if you don't actually want the breeze but just the noise. It will tilt so it points up at the ceiling even. Overall it's adequate for cooling/breeze, and really great for white noise.

Wanted a small portable fan to take in my suitcase for my travels as I need a fan to fall asleep with. I read a review that said this fan was loud. Turns out it was as mentioned and very good for my tast as I like loud fans to fade out others sounds. It's very powerful for its size so a very well fan for the money. It came in great condition and the price was right! Definitely worth the money and will be more than enough white noise to make you sleep nice and sound. I have owned many fans of all sizes and shapes and this fan is one of the best ones I have owned for all it does and worth.
