My wife brought one of these home and put it next to her bed. I became quite jealous! I have always used fans for noise cover and air circulation while sleeping. I was using a standard tabletop fan, but had it on the floor. But when I saw how much air this little table topper moved, and the wonderfully pleasing hum it generated while doing so, I had to have one. Bought 2 - one for a backup.Interesting to note, the fan my wife brought home from Walmart has Holmes labels. I expected to get these with a Jarden label, but no - they are labeled as Holmes fans. A check of the Holmes site, though suggests that they no longer carry this fan - so get them from Jarden!

The purpose in me getting this fan was to provide some white noise in our bedroom to drown out the neighborhood and household noise. We were looking for the normal "hum" you get with a fan. However, from the moment I plugged this in, there was a noticeable and very annoying buzz or rattling from it. After closer inspection, it sounds like it was coming from the inside of the motor. It frankly sounds like something is wrong with it, and there is no way anyone could sleep with that kind of noise. I'm immediately printing out a return label and will be shopping for a better quality fan. Would NOT recommend to a friend.

I bought this fan for because i wanted something small and portable, AND EASY TO CLEAN. I mean, a fan is a fan - the biggest problem with most fans is that they get dirty by nature, and it is usually very difficult to get them apart so you can clean them. This fan solves that perfectly. There is only one small screw to take off the "cage" housing and access the fan blades to clean them.
