I have four of these fans.The one at my office runs 8h x 5d and has been going strong for over two yearsThe one at my home office sees even less use and sits nearly three feet from me and it produces a steady breeze.The one on my nightstand is about 4 feet from me and runs 10h x 7d and i get more than enough breeze and the white noise i like for sleep without disturbing my spouse.The last one runs 24h x 7d to move air from the house into the glass great room to help maintain even temperature. After about 1.5 years the motor bearing started to whine a bit if I stopped it and then restarted it. after two + years the fan now needs to be spun by hand to get it to start due to the bearing. Considering the number of hours this one has run and its low cost I am not going to complain.Just ordered two more, one to replace the 24 x 7 unit and one as a spare as it seems like these are getting scarce.Love this little guy!!!!

I love small fans. I buy a fan at least once or twice a year, because I need a fan to sleep. I have it next to my bed, blowing air on me, year round.My current and aging fan, I bought at wallmart for $10. It has a nice wind to it, but it is fairly noisy, which I like, but my wife doesn't, because it blocks out too much noise. So, I went to amazon.com and searched for small desk fans which were quiet. I came across this one with safe to touch blades. Hmmm, interesting, so if my kids were to touch them, they wouldn't get hurt. Fan makes a rattling noise when in operation. "Immediate area" is right next to fan, with nose touching blades, then the air is cool and crisp.It is easy to use, but do not buy.Customer relations were easy to use, put complaint in through amazon.com and they emailed company. Company explained what I needed to do and I recieved a refund. Took roughly 3 weeks for refund to come through, but that was alright, at least it that worked.And I am still using my old fan. Haven't found a decent replacement...yet.
