When I unboxed this fan, I thought there must have been a mistake, because I knew the fan is supposed to sell for over $200 and what I took out of the box seemed like a $50 fan at most. But, I love fans and was determined to be open minded about how this one looked and performed. So, I set it up and tried the 3 speeds and was pretty amazed by how much air the fan moved without being very loud. I know it's supposed to be a table fan, but I set it on the floor in the corner of my den, a large room, and began to back away from it. Even at the opposite corner of the room, nearly 20 feet away, I could still feel a light breeze and the plant leaves behind me rustled a little. And, it wasn't especially loud - pretty quiet, in fact (although my wife, who is very sound sensitive, thinks it's loud on high speed). On lower speeds it's even quieter and moves less air, so you'd have a wide range of uses for it depending on whether you were using it on a nearby table or setting it on the floor farther away. I think it looks good enough to fit into the decor of many rooms, so you could leave it in place.Studying this fan, it looks to me like it has a fairly small fan diameter of maybe 13 inches and it still moves a lot of air. It looks to have a larger than normal motor, which may explain the power. The big issue is the price. If it fits your decor, it may well be worth it because it's also doubling as a room element. If not, you can buy a lot of air moving fans for less.

Functionally and aesthetically this fan is a great product. The build is very solid from the weight of the base to the heavy duty power cable. The fan looks nice on a table and is a nice addition to a room that needs a fan. The only bad part is that the price seems a bit high.

If you're tired of your old box fans in the window, or your oscillating white plastic fan in the corner of your room, this TransGlobe Decorative Table fan is a giant step up. Not only is it a whisper-quiet, 3-speed, oscillating fan, but it's a beautiful decorative item as well. Although made of resin according to the description, the tall fan base has the appearance of wood, with decorative gold vines and black accents. The fan itself is a dull black metal that speaks of wrought iron. It is easy to assemble (just insert the tube of the fan into the stand and turn to screw in) right out of the package. At the top of the fan is a handle to move it easily from room to room. This is a beautiful addition to any home's decor, and so much nicer to look at than those white plastic fans I always seem to end up with. My only complaint is the product is made in China, and I would prefer American made.
